Transportation in Beijing

The Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is the main airport of Beijing, which is about 20 km northeast of Beijing city centre. Most domestic and all major international airline flights arrive and depart at the Capital Airport. The airport is linked to central Beijing by Airport Shuttle bus.

You can take airport shuttle bus No 4. from the airport to the Friendship Hotel Bus Station (http://en.bcia.com.cn/traffic-manual/airport-bus.shtml). The fare is 16 RMB (about 2.5 USD).

If you take the airport shuttle bus to the Friendship Hotel Bus Station, please show the following tag to the airport staff or any one nearby you.

You can also get a taxi right outside the arrival terminals. It is about 30 km from the airport to the Beijing Friendship hotel. The fare is about 120 RMB (17 USD). The price of the taxi is RMB 2 Yuan per kilometer with an initial price of RMB10 Yuan. The charge would be 20% higher after 15 kilometers or during the night time (11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.). Please pay according to the mile meter. No tip in China. Please ask for a receipt from your taxi driver in case you accidentally leave something in the car.
