MDM is a research forum on data management issues in the evolving world of mobile, wireless, and pervasive computing. MDM 2008 is to be held during May 26-30, 2008 in Beijing, China (see http://idke.ruc.edu.cn/mdm2008/ for details). Following the MDM tradition, MDM 2008 workshops will provide the participants with opportunities to discuss and explore emerging areas of mobile data management with fellow students, researchers, and practitioners. Workshops may concern any topic within the scope of MDM. The goals of the workshops are to establish a common understanding of a certain aspect, to share experiences, to foster research communities, to learn from each other, to identify open problems and/or to explore future directions of research. Workshops are tentatively planned to be held on either Monday, May 26, 2008 or Friday, May 30, 2008. Arrangement regarding to the publication of accepted workshop papers are under way. Workshop proposals should be no longer than 4 pages and should include a summary of no more than 250 words describing the theme(s) of the workshop, a more detailed description of the workshop activities, specific goals and plan, the background of the organizer(s), the expected number of participants, and the means of soliciting participation. The MDM 2008 organizing committee will decide on the acceptance of workshop proposals.
